Nike has partnered with Girls Gone Strong (GGS) to provide its global network of trainers with specialized pre- and postnatal fitness coaching certification. The move underscores a growing industry focus on evidence-based, women-centered fitness education, particularly as demand rises for inclusive training programs that support athletes and mothers through pregnancy and postpartum recovery.

Global Trainer Education Initiative

Nike hosted in-person certification sessions at its headquarters, where trainers from around the world participated in live, translated training led by GGS founder Molly Galbraith. The curriculum covered crucial topics in women’s health, body image, and fitness adaptations during and after pregnancy.

Trainers received direct access to GGS’s Pre- & Postnatal Coaching Certification materials, ensuring practical, evidence-based skills in nutrition, exercise prescription, and psychological support for pregnant and postpartum clients.

Molly Galbraith’s Focus on Body Image

A central component of the training was Galbraith’s presentation on the impact of body image on women’s engagement with fitness, especially during and after pregnancy. The sessions equipped Nike trainers with strategies to promote sustainable exercise habits, address body dysmorphia, and foster positive self-perception in their clients.

GGS Certification Now Part of Nike’s Network

Following the training, Nike trainers formally enrolled in the GGS certification program, with many completing the course and earning GGS credentials. This integration adds a layer of quality assurance to Nike’s global trainer network, signaling a commitment to specialized care for pregnant and postpartum athletes.

Industry Impact & Athlete Benefits

This collaboration reinforces GGS as a leading provider of women-specific fitness education. For Nike, it strengthens its brand reputation by demonstrating a dedication to evidence-based practices.

For athletes and mothers, GGS-certified Nike trainers now offer increased confidence in receiving safe, effective, and body-positive guidance during critical life stages.

“This partnership ensures that Nike’s trainers are equipped with the knowledge to support women’s fitness journeys with sensitivity, expertise, and respect for their unique needs.”

The initiative represents a growing trend toward specialized fitness certifications, indicating that athletic brands recognize the value of investing in advanced training to meet the evolving demands of their clientele.
