The Irwin family recently shared a touching video of their daughter, Grace Warrior, interacting with an echidna named Bella at the Australia Zoo. The clip, posted by Bindi Irwin on Instagram, shows the toddler giggling as the animal playfully follows her around, even appearing to “kiss” her.
A Unique Connection
According to Bindi’s caption, she has “never seen an echidna love someone so much,” highlighting the unusual affection displayed by Bella towards Grace. Terri Irwin, Grace’s grandmother, echoed this sentiment, stating in a comment that she’s never witnessed such behavior in over three decades of working with echidnas.
“This is incredibly special. In the 33 years I’ve worked with echidnas, I’ve never seen one love somebody this much. Grace is such a special little soul.”
Early Exposure to Wildlife
Grace Warrior was born on March 25, 2021, exactly one year after her parents, Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell, married at the Australia Zoo. Bindi has previously emphasized the importance of playtime and early exposure to animals in a child’s development.
“Those moments of connection with play… give kids the opportunity to have those building blocks for the foundation for the rest of their lives,” Bindi shared in an interview with SheKnows. The family’s continued dedication to wildlife conservation and education is evident in this latest heartwarming video.
The clip serves as a sweet reminder of the Irwin family’s commitment to instilling a love for animals in the next generation, ensuring Grace Warrior grows up with a deep respect for the natural world.
